Alex Cook - Specialist Dietitian

Alex has worked in endurance sport for almost 20 yrs. Being a competitive runner and outdoor enthusiast herself, she understands the demands of training and competition whilst balancing work and family life. Alex has worked with hundreds of athletes to date to help achieve optimal performance at every level - beginner to elite.
Alex is a Registered Dietitian with HCPC with a BSc (hons) Sports Science and a post graduate in Nutrition and Dietetics. Over the years, she has had extensive experience with athletes from amateur to elite & has a varied work history from working with the British Army & the Institute of Naval Medicine to clinical work in NHS and a number of rehabilitation and physiotherapy clinics. ​Alex also specialises in Eating disorders and is an area she is very passionate about. She is a current clinical practitioner working in the NHS near her home in Berkshire with young people and adults with diagnosed eating disorders . She is also part of a private Active Womens Clinics working with individuals with RED-s. Alex also sees individuals that suspect RED-s and has a team of other practitioners she can refer to if needed. ​Over the years, Alex has worked with a wide variety of media and brands. She has contributed to publications within the diet and fitness industries including Redbull, Athletics Weekly, Runners World,Trail Running magazine, Fit and Well and Cosmopolitan.​​Alongside her professional experience, Alex has been a competitive runner for almost 20 years, racing from track to multi day ultra events. Her experience in the sports helps her identify and work successfully with a number of professional and amateur athletes on improving performance through diet and nutrition.
